In 1899, the company acquired the production facilities, the manufacturing “secrets” and the famous brand from Rodolphe Lindt, hence the company name change to Chocoladefabriken Lindt & Sprüngli AG.  It was the revolutionary invention of the conche by Rodolphe Lindt in 1879 that brought the first “melting” chocolate to the world.
