The Swiss-based Nestle Group has a long-established presence in China. Nestle set up its first sales office in Shanghai as early as 1908.

The first joint-venture in the Mainland was launched in 1990, followed by another 20 plants and one R+D Center. As of 2006, in the Greater China Region, the Nestle Group has made foreign direct investment from Switzerland amounting to RMB 7 billion. In 2006, in our Greater China Region sales amounted to RMB 11.9  bilion and Nestle made RMB 1.1  billion for various taxes.
