House of Switzerland Canada 2010 finds Canada’s Best Chocolate Recipe
A panel of celebrity judges announced the winner in Vancouver, selecting Vancouver resident Timothy Tejuco from the three finalist recipes. The 23-year old sous chef submitted his recipe for Crispy Pecan Chocolate Bars to claim the top prize of a year supply of couverture and a $250 gift certificate for Lindt & Sprüngli.
The judging panel included:
· Rebecca Bollwitt, Miss 604- who was recently trained in the art of
chocolate tasting in Switzerland
· Rob Budowksi, Vice-President of Sales for Lindt & Sprüngli
· Anya Levykh, Food & Wine Columnist for Metro News
· Claire Newell, Global Best Bets & Jubilee Travel – an expert in chocolate

Whistler hosted the “People’s Chocolate Contest” that featuring the same three recipes. The winner was selected by restaurant patrons and passersby who named Kelowna resident Nadia Dürig as the people’s choice. The 27-year old home-care provider submitted her recipe for a Triple Layered Chocolate Mousse that won the crowd’s hearts and taste buds. Dürig received a $250 gift basket of products from Lindt & Sprüngli.
The finalists represented a collection of talent from across Canada. Along with Tejuco and Dürig, the third finalist in the recipe competition came from Julie Blanchard St-Jacques, a 19-year old pastry student from Montreal for her recipe L’Éphémère Chocolaté aux Poires.
