La Maison de la Suisse à la Fête de la Francophonie

The House of Switzerland is coming to Trafalgar Square for the Fête de la Francophonie on 17 March 2012.

Four months before the summer Olympic Games in London, francophone countries will celebrate French, one of the official languages of the Olympics, and the cultural diversity of the 75 francophone countries in the world. Switzerland currently holds the Presidency of La Francophonie, the international organisation of all French-speaking countries, and there will be a strong Swiss flavour to the festivities.

Check out the Swiss marquee on Trafalgar Square to find out more about the House of Switzerland (the official Swiss hospitality centre at the Olympics), sample Swiss cheese and chocolate, and enter a competition to win luxury flights and a hotel stay in Lausanne, the home of the International Olympic Committee.

Swiss artist Noga is one of a series of French-speaking musicians performing in Trafalgar Square on 17 March as part of “Music en français” – a huge party in the heart of London to celebrate the international French Language Day.

So whether your tastes are musical, culinary, sportive, or a bit of everything, we hope that by the end of the evening, you’ll all join with us in saying – “le français, j’adore!”
