The focus is now fully on sport. The Swiss delegation is made up of 102 athletes in 34 different disciplines. The House of Switzerland will welcome most of them during the daily athletes' meetings with the press. Yesterday saw the first of these meetings: our only judoka was in the press room of the House of Switzerland at Glaziers Hall to answer the journalists’ questions.
Ludovic Chammartin, 27, will be our Swiss competitor in the judo competition. He arrived yesterday at the Olympic Village and cannot wait for the competition to start on Saturday. With Sergej Aeschwanden as an example, Ludovic knows that the most important thing will be to deal with the pressure, as the London Games will be his first Olympics. A medal would be a wonderful accomplishment and London will be the place to reach it.
Several press meetings with the athletes will take place in the House of Switzerland. We will, for instance, welcome the beachvolleyball, marathon and BMX teams. Many live updates on these events can be followed on our twitter and facebook pages.
Let us also look forward to the (hopefully) numerous medal celebrations that will take place at the House of Switzerland. Each event will take place either at 6.30pm or 10pm. More information will be given in due course, prior to every celebration. So let’s all meet in the Red Zone to celebrate our athletes and Swiss sport.
And for now, there is only one thing left to say: Good Luck Ludovic!
