heidiskis refines an elevated approach for 2010
Swiss luxury ski maker strengthens their unique blend of performance and style with new core material, new shapes and new graphics
MONTREUX, SWITZERLAND –
Enhancements to the look and feel of the Swiss handmade luxury skis were based on the direct feedback of more than 50 heidiskis ambassadors – skiers of all levels who tested the skis in diverse conditions and terrain of Europe, the USA and Canada throughout 2009.
“Creating a ski directly inspired by the world’s most spectacular mountains has been our goal since day one,” said Heidi Blum, heidiskis founder and lead designer. “For 2010, we’ve taken another step in the continuing heidiskis evolution.”
heidiskis are the only skis in the world to feature tip-to-tail 100% wood cores, and utilize hand-selected mature Swiss white ash for the ultimate combination of longevity, flex and strength. heidiskis also include P-TEX 5000 bases, the material favored by World Class racers for speed and durability; Rockwell 48HRC extra wide steel edges; and beveled ABS sidewalls.
For 2010, heidiskis has added an integrated titanale layer to the vertically laminated white ash core. The addition enhances torsional resistance and increases maneuverability, improving on the skis’ legendary high-performance ride.
The new lineup also features a subtle yet spectactular “wood dragon” line cut graphic. The combination of woodgrain and Himalayan etching highlights the unique, natural aspects of the ski as well as Heidiskis’ ongoing commitment to provide 10% of profits to the American Himalayan Foundation.
The Heidiskis 2010 ski collection begins with the All Mountain ski, a lively companion for everyday exploring on groomed and off-piste terrain. The All Mountain is available in four lengths: 152 cm (108-72-100), 162 cm (112-76-104), 172 cm (116-80-118) and 182 cm (120-84-112).
The Heidiskis 2010 lineup also includes the Freeride, a dynamic powder and crud ski that easily makes the transition to carving on hard pack. The Freeride comes in three lengths for 2010 – 168 cm, 178 cm, 188cm – each with a sidecut of 132-94-122.
