International Radio Festival

The acoustic flame of Switzerland during the London Olympics 2012

The International Radio Festival was founded in Zurich Switzerland in 2010 to honour and celebrate the worlds most consumed, and most powerful, medium: music radio.

The Festival enables visitors a rare "over the shoulder" chance to experience how some of the world’s leading radio jockeys run their award winning music shows offering visitors and global on-air audiences alike the rare chance to "Listen to how the world sounds" - all on one channel!

Following the success of the second edition in 2011, the International Radio Festival will be present as a guest of the House of Switzerland in London during the 2012 London Olympics, where the Festival will showcase not only the very best in music radio programming from both Switzerland and the UK, but will also build cultural "acoustic" bridges between the two nations musical entertainment offering by featuring bands, solo artistes, music festivals, and leading nightlife brands.

During its residency at the House of Switzerland, the International Radio Festival will broadcast on-air to London and the world beyond from inside a bus acting also as a "lifestyle transit" hub, interviewing Swiss and guest athletes participating in the Olympic Games including those active behind the scenes, offering insights to the opinions about the Games and its host city London from the general public at large during this world event.
