History of the House of Switzerland

The official Swiss guest centre at the Olympic Games has existed since 1998, operating as a hub and meeting place for decision-makers from the spheres of sport, business, and politics. Since 2004 the House of Switzerland project has been managed by Presence Switzerland of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

The House of Switzerland traditionally acts as a place for the Swiss Olympic team and Swiss athletes to meet and socialise. It is used in collaboration with the Swiss Confederation, its partners, and the Swiss Olympic Association, as well as for receptions, client events, media conferences, and medal celebrations.
